The Nanaimo Clippers dropped a 4-0 decision to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs on Tuesday.
Ryan Lough got the only goal of the first period at 12:24 on a strange bounce in front of goalie Chris Eiserman.
In the second period a controversial goal made it 2-0 on the power play, when Josh Mitchell banged in a loose puck that the Clippers thought was covered at 7:40.
The Bulldogs added two more in the third with goals by Mitchell at 9:25 and Alex Grupe at 13:15 on a man advantage.
Nanaimo had the edge in shots at 41-33 but Matt Larose earned the shutout in goal for Alberni.
On the man advantage Nanaimo finished 0/8 while the Bulldogs would up 2/5.

The season series finishes 5-3 for the Clippers as Nanaimo prepares to host Coquitlam Wednesday and then Powell River Friday and Sunday to wrap up the season.
