The Nanaimo Clippers are excited to announce the addition of forward, Cole Lonsdale, from Mississauga, Ontario. The 5’11” left-shooting winger brings a wealth of talent to the team.
Born May 30, 2004, Lonsdale enters the BCHL with a number of junior experiences, having played 53 games with the OJHL Mississauga Chargers in 2021-22 and 39 games for the Springfield Jr. Blues of the NAHL in 2022-23. Throughout his time with the Springfield Jr Blues, Cole amassed 15 goals and 17 assists from 32 points. Lonsdale also made an impact playing up with the Madison Capitols, finishing with a goal through 6 games with the club.
When asked about his game, Cole said “I’m a two-way forward first. I've got a high IQ and I like to bring skill to my game by making high-level plays at a fast pace.” Lonsdale’s talent has also caught the attention of NCAA Div. 1 school, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
Lonsdale’s signing with the Nanaimo Clippers also highlights the team’s continued reputation of being a top-contending team with high-end players. Lonsdale echoed this point when asked why he chose the Clippers, “Nanaimo is a top team in the BCHL. I’ve heard great things about their ownership, coaching staff, and management. They operate with integrity and they mean what they say.”
